The Saferoom Project
Meet the Founders
Saferoom, the Yahoo! forum, was created at a time when the World Wide Web was new and just beginning to develop as the vast network we now frequent. The advent of survivors seeking and finding support remotely was a new concept. The original founder of Saferoom at Yahoo! created the group because she didn't have access to a local support group. This group was created to fill a personal need. However, she quickly found that many people felt the same void in their own lives and Saferoom hosted over two hundred members within its first couple of months. Finding the prospects of hosting such a needful space took a personal toll and the founder realized for her own self-preservation that she needed to let the group go. At that point the Yahoo! group became managed by Mrs and Kelley.
Our Founders and Co-Presidents
Saferoom, and The project itself, has three founders, and two Co-Presidents, Mrs and Kelley. There is one founder for the Partner and Supporters forum, Rob. Regarding issues in a survivor forum, or The Saferoom Project as a whole, please direct correspondence to Mrs or Kelley. For issues regarding the Partner forum, direct correspondence to Rob. Please understand that while we hold individual conversations in confidence, when there are issues that will affect the forum as a whole, we freely communicate them to each other.
